Virtex-2 FPGA-module with DDR-SDRAM memory: XV2DDR
The X2VDDR module is a volatile credit card sized VIRTEX-II™ FPGA building block. It presents a quick solution for products that require rapid time-to-market by providing a cost-effective and easy way to integrating a 1 Million gate Virtex-II™ FPGA together with 32 MBytes of fast DDR SDRAM into the user's system. With its dimensions of only 64,13 x 55,25 mm, it fits even small size demands. Two main connectors with 140 pins each, make integration in larger systems easy. |

FPGA configuration can take place self-triggered after powering the module. A Flash memory is integrated to store the configuration data permanently. Other configuration options include JTAG and fast SelectMap mode. Besides 4 mini-DIP switches and 2 Leds, there are 2 clocl oszillators with 40MHz and 80 respectively 125 MHz available. The on-board batterie to keep alive the DES-keys makes it possible to protect FPGA designs. |

DDR SDRAM controller: Array-electronics offers an DDR SDRAM-Controller for the XV2DDR module.It provides a multi-port Interface for demanding applications that need multiple data-streams. A free 'light-version' of the DDR SDRAM controller can be downloaded from opencores.org. This free version achieves130 Mbytes/s with 100MHz system-clock. It consumes about 180 Slices in a Virtex II device.It also runs at 133 MHz on the XV2DDR module without any problems! To place and route designs for the VIRTEX-2 XC2V1000-5FGG456C FPGA you need additional software which is not included in our delivery. More information on www.xilinx.com |
