Three oscillators provide clocks for the FPGA and the local bus of the PCIe-bridge. Optional, additional clocks can be provided by plug-in boards. The busmaster PCI-Express interface is implemeted using an additional device, the PEX 8311. No PCI-Express core is needed in your FPGA design. No detailed knowledge about the PCI-bus is needed to transfer data beween the FPGA and the user-software running on the PC. The FPGA-device is connected to a SO-DIMM socket. By default the board comes with fast 512-MByte DDR2 SDRAM memory installed. |
