A PCI Express card with Xilinx™ Virtex-4™ FPGA, 512 MB SO-DIMM memory and a 78-pin HD-SUB connector.
The slot between the FPGA and the HD-SUB connector allows to insert custom electronics components. Enhancements such as ADC, DAC or PHY's can be added this way.

The PEX8311 PCIe bridge realizes the bus mastering PCIe interface.
There is no need to use PCI-Express IP cores in the FPGA design.

Xilinx Virtex-4

The heart of this CESYS FPGA board is a Virtex-4 LX25. Upon request, the board will be supplied with LX45 or LX60.

Interface

A 78-pin. SUB-D connector and 6 LEDs provide the link to the "outside world"

Module slot

Between the SUB-D connector and the FPGA is a slot for PIB modules.

PIB64 IO-module

The module PIB64IO buffers the IO signals of the FPGA. Users can use their own custom modules.

JTAG

A Xilinx platform cable (not included) can be connected directly.

Memory module

One slot for SO-DIMM memory modules is available.

Included accessories

The PIB module "PIB64IO" and a 512 MByte SO-DIMM memory module are included.

PCI Express

The FPGA is connected via the PCI Express controller PEX8311. The FPGA design does not require to have an PCI Express IP core.
